Founding Principal Appointed for One Degree Academy!

We are delighted to report that after an extensive selection process, we have appointed Mr. Aidan Sadgrove as the Founding Principal of One Degree Academy.

Aidan is a highly experienced teacher and senior leader who has worked in schools in London since 2006. Prior to joining One Degree Academy, he served as Vice Principal of City of London Academy and is part of the Future Leaders programme, a challenging and highly selective programme that prepares outstanding teachers to transform schools in complex urban settings.

As part of his preparation for headship, he has worked with experts in education and is part of a national and international network of school leaders. Aidan came to us with glowing references from his colleagues and members of the communities in which he has worked.

We were hugely impressed by the quantity and quality of applications for the position of Founding Principal. Candidates were subject to a rigorous selection process, including a full assessment-day at King Solomon Academy and panel interviews with the One Degree Academy Board and an advisor from the Department for Education.

We are absolutely delighted that Aidan has accepted the post and will formally being work in January 2016. We are looking forward to supporting him in leading the school and achieving outstanding outcomes for all our pupils.
