Applying to One Degree is the first step in joining a programme designed to support your growth and future success. While we don’t expect perfect answers, we do look for students to show genuine effort. Your application is our first chance to see your interest in being part of the programme, so it’s worth taking a little time to do it properly.
Here are a few simple tips to help you complete the form successfully:
1. Read the questions carefully
Before you start writing, make sure you understand what the question is asking. If you’re not sure, don’t rush. Take a moment to think about how you can answer it in a way that shows who you are and why you want to join.
2. Give more than one-word answers
Short answers like “yes,” “no,” or “I don’t know” don’t give us much to work with. Even if you’re not confident in your writing, try to give at least one or two full sentences. Think about what you can add that shows your personality and effort.
3. Don’t worry about mistakes
Spelling or grammar mistakes are not a big deal. What matters is that you try your best to express yourself. If we can see that you’ve made an effort, that’s far more important than having perfect English. But, do make extra sure your email address is entered correctly! Using a personal email address is better than your school email address. Guess why…because One Degree will still be available to you long after you leave school!
4. Show your interest in the programme
One Degree invests in every student who joins. We want to know that you’re ready to make the most of this opportunity. Use the form to show us that you’re curious, motivated, and open to learning.
5. Pay extra attention to the last question
The final question on the form is the most important. This is your chance to explain why you want to join One Degree. Take time to think about your answer. Why do you want to be part of the programme? What do you hope to learn or achieve? A thoughtful response here makes a big difference.
6. Don’t panic if you miss a question
If you make a small mistake or forget to answer one or two questions, that’s not the end of the world. We understand that forms can be tricky. But try not to leave lots of questions blank, as it makes it harder for us to see your commitment.
Final thought
Remember, the application isn’t about being perfect. It’s about showing us who you are and that you want to take part. By putting in a little time and effort, you’ll give yourself the best chance of being accepted onto One Degree.
Once your form is submitted, check your email. If you cannot see a confirmation email then check your junk/spam folder – your confirmation email might be there!
