One Degree is entering an important stage of growth, and we are looking for someone who can help us build stronger, more sustainable relationships with the corporate world.

We are seeking a part-time Business Development Lead, working around 2–4 days per month, with a particular focus on the banking and financial-services sector.

The role is about developing long-term partnerships that go beyond one-off donations. We want to build relationships that can combine:

  • CSR sponsorship;
  • multi-year corporate funding;
  • employee fundraising;
  • volunteer mentoring;
  • skills-based support;
  • and wider strategic partnerships.

The Business Development Lead will work closely with our CEO and a new Business Development Trustee to identify opportunities, build a strong prospect pipeline, secure meetings and develop partnership proposals that are relevant to the needs of corporate partners.

We are particularly interested in someone who understands how banks, asset managers, insurers, fintech companies and professional-services firms think about CSR, employee engagement and social impact.

This is a small time commitment, but an important role. We are looking for someone who can be focused, proactive and commercially minded, while also understanding the importance of education, social mobility and supporting disadvantaged young people.

The role would suit someone with experience in:

  • business development;
  • corporate partnerships;
  • fundraising;
  • CSR or ESG;
  • banking or financial services;
  • or senior relationship management.

Success would mean creating a stronger pipeline of corporate partners, securing new sponsorship, developing multi-year relationships and increasing the number of corporate professionals who can support our students as volunteer mentors.
