Join One Degree as a Business Development Trustee
As One Degree grows, we want to strengthen the experience and networks around our Board.
We are therefore looking for a Business Development Trustee with strong connections in banking, finance or related professional services.
This is not intended to be a passive trustee role.
Alongside the normal responsibilities of charity governance, we are looking for someone who can actively help us develop stronger corporate partnerships, open doors and bring senior-level insight into how One Degree can build a more sustainable funding and volunteering model.
The Trustee will work closely with our CEO and part-time Business Development Lead.
Together, the focus will be on developing relationships that can generate:
- CSR sponsorship;
- corporate partnerships;
- volunteer mentors;
- employee fundraising;
- matched giving;
- and strategic support.
The ideal person may come from banking, investment management, insurance, private equity, fintech or professional services.
They do not necessarily need to be a professional fundraiser.
What matters most is that they understand the corporate environment, have strong networks, can make senior introductions and are willing to use their experience to help One Degree create opportunities.
The Trustee will also help us think strategically about how we position ourselves to corporate partners, how we build long-term relationships and when additional paid fundraising or business-development capacity may be needed.
We are particularly interested in someone who believes that their professional experience and network can help create greater opportunity for disadvantaged young people.
The role is about more than fundraising.
It is about helping One Degree connect the worlds of education, social mobility and corporate engagement in a way that creates value for students, mentors and partners alike.
