Maths Teacher – In-Person & Online
Job Title Teaching Consultant
Reporting to CEO
Remuneration £20-£25 / hour
One Degree mentors and empowers GCSE students from disadvantaged backgrounds by developing their self-belief and transforming their academic performance.
Our annual 15-25 session inspirational boot camps have transformed the lives of over 400 students in London since 2009. We have attracted over 500 volunteer mentors from diverse professional backgrounds including Banking & Finance, Media, Law, Medicine, Engineering and IT to volunteer their time to successfully mentor our students.
We are looking for inspirational and outstanding teachers to work with us on our weekend programmes.
The team-member will be responsible for the Maths curriculum and delivery of a collaborated Maths syllabus. This will require co-ordination skills, the ability to work with One Degree teachers and teachers from the schools where we deliver our programmes, together with a passion for working with and inspiring young people.
Excellent communication and people skills are therefore at the core of this role.
In-Person – The role is initially for 3 to 4 Saturdays during our Autumn Programme (November – December) and 8 to 10 Saturdays during our Spring Programme (January – June), however may be extended further after this initial period and lead to a full-time role.
Online – This part of the role can be seperate or in addition or the in-person portion of the role. Online teaching requires recording lessons for on-demand viewing, creating downloadable resources and delivering live online sessions via our own purpose built mentoring platform.
If you are secondary school teacher with Maths GCSE experience, and would be interested in joining our team for an October start, please send us a CV and a note of interest.
