One Degree mentors and empowers GCSE students from disadvantaged backgrounds by developing their self-belief and transforming their academic performance.
Our annual 15-25 session inspirational boot camps have transformed the lives of hundreds of students in London since 2009. We have attracted over 700 volunteer mentors from diverse professional backgrounds including Banking & Finance, Media, Law, Medicine, Engineering and IT to volunteer their time to successfully mentor our students.
The Role
We are looking for inspirational and outstanding teachers to work with us on our weekend programmes.
The team member will be responsible for the Maths curriculum and delivery of a collaborative Maths syllabus. This will require coordination skills, and the ability to work with One Degree teachers and teachers from the schools where we deliver our programmes, together with a passion for working with and inspiring young people.
Excellent communication and people skills are therefore at the core of this role.
In-Person –The role is initially for 3 to 8 Saturdays during our annual programme (November – June). Dates and Maths sessions vary per programme.
Online – This part of the role can be separate or in addition to the in-person portion of the role. Online teaching requires recording lessons for on-demand viewing, creating downloadable resources and delivering live online sessions via our own purpose-built mentoring platform.
