This privacy policy sets out how One Degree uses and protects any information that you give One Degree when you use this website or contact us via phone, email or in person.

We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified, when using this website, for example when completing a contact form, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy policy and will only be used for the purposes for which you consent.

We may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 22 January 2019.

What we collect and what we do with the information we gather

We may collect the following information.

Generally using the site:

  • Your IP address and other data associated with your computer or device;
  • Information on which pages your computer or device visits and how long you spend on a page
  • Information on which search terms you may have used in a search engine to get to the site or what other route you took to get here.

This information is held in an anonymised form (ie we don’t know who you are, only that you visited and interacted with the site). We use this information in Google Analytics to understand how the site is performing and to try to keep improving it.

Filling in a contact or enquiry form or dropping us an email (we may collect a maximum of the following):

  • Company Name
  • Address
  • The purpose of your enquiry

When registering your interest in becoming a mentor we may additionally collect.

  • Date of Birth
  • Your employment
  • Mentoring experience
  • Health information
  • Referree information
  • Whether you have a DBS certificate

We use this information to respond to your enquiry and/or application. It will only be used for that purpose unless you also give us permission to stay in contact to hear about events, news etc (e.g by ticking a checkbox at the end of the form).

If you do consent to stay in contact, we will use your information to send you occasional emails and you will be free to unsubscribe at any time.

Who will your information be shared with?

Your personal data will not be sold or shared with any third parties.

We will use the information within One Degree for the purpose it was intended – e.g. to respond to your enquiry or to respond to your mentor application. The information will be shared with the minimum amount of people necessary.

In the rare event that it would be useful to pass your personal data to third parties, e.g. if you would benefit from speaking to one of our partners, you will be contacted in order to give your positive consent for this purpose.

Your personal data may also be shared if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation or in order to enforce or apply our terms of use on this website and other agreements.

How long will we retain your information

We will retain your personal data for no longer than is necessary and in any event no longer that 5 years from the receipt of an enquiry. Following this period all personal data will be deleted.

If you choose to opt-in to receive further communications from us, we will hold onto your data for the purposes of sending you those communications. You are free to choose to opt-out at any time and at that point we will delete your data.

Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical and electronic procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Enquiry information is not stored on our website. When you fill in a contact form or send us an email, the information is emailed directly to us and is not recorded on the website.

Name, email and application details are stored online in a secure system for those customers that choose to join our mailing list.

How we use cookies
